We are planting seeds and making pots from newspaper. We’re planting shrubs in the garden bed. We also learned about the greenhouse and getting seeds to plant. We observed the chickens in the courtyard and their habitat! We got gloves and shovels. We learned how to make newspaper pots.
We are on the move to finish in 2018 with our 3rd Green Flag. Come back and watch what we are up to!
It's a rainy day while we plant crabapple trees, bleeding hearts, ghost ferns, cinnamon ferns, woodland phlox, lamb’s ear, anemone, and alium. Today it's sort of windy. It's about 50 degrees or so. We’re up some Akelia, and replanting them in pots. We are also Alliums. Alliums look like fireworks. We also planted some bulbs. Lastly, we planted blueberry bushes.
We are transplanting grass. We watered the baby trees we planted and are adding Red Oak and White Oak. We got a wagon to help us move the plants. We are planting a male Ilis Verticillata (Winterberry bush) Females grow berries while males don't.
We planted a female deciduous tree in the courtyard. We also made a tree nursery for Redbuds, Oaks, Holly, Dogwood and Crete Myrtle’s. We found a praying mantis that was huge and gray.
We observed what we planted last spring and learned about ecosystems. We also saw a big bluejay and watered the greenhouse. We also saw our chickens Turkey, Fancy pants Fefe, Bechtle, and winter. We also broke sticks to clear out a place so we can plant new bushes. The bin of sticks overflowed so we had to go through the school to dump the sticks in a pile.
