Sustainable Food Pathway
How can you, as a Flint Hill Student, inform the Vienna Community about eating healthy?
Our students were posed this question, two years ago. Our staff worked hard to get the student's involved in planting in our Tower Gardens, advocating for healthy food options in the cafeteria, and getting the knowledge behind why you should eat healthy. Students and staff at Flint Hill took part in planting seeds, watching them grow into seedlings, planting these seedlings in our Tower Garden and raised beds. We waited and waited but after the plants matured throughout the year- we had a salad bar, took some home to add to our lunch or dinners, and even invited the community to come and help with the next round of vegetable planting. We learned that hard work goes into growing our own food, but it tastes so much better!
